It certifies that the formaldehyde emissions from wood-based panels meet the requirements mandated by the U.S. EPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency). The certification is mandatory for importation into the United States of America.The product certification scheme is accredited by ACCREDIA in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065.
How it works. CATAS inspectors make four visits per year to the company’s factory to verify production and sample the panels which will be analysed in the CATAS laboratory. Furthermore, the company carries out periodic tests and informs CATAS of the results. CATAS verifies compliance with the requirements of TSCA Title VI - 40 CFR Part 770 and with the additional requirements established by the specific CQA regulation under accreditation.
