It certifies that the formaldehyde emissions from raw wood-based panels meet the requirements mandated by the California Air Resources Board, a government agency, and is necessary for importation into California.
The product certification scheme is accredited by ACCREDIA according to ISO/IEC 17065.

How it works. CATAS inspectors make four visits per year to the company’s plant to verify production and sample the panels to be analysed in the CATAS laboratory. The company is also required to carry out periodic tests and communicate the results to CATAS. Compliance is verified according to the requirements of the CARB Final Regulation Order ATCM §93120 and the additional requirements established by the specific CQA regulation under accreditation.
