It certifies the Italian origin, mechanical safety, performance and quality of furniture. The certification is based on the UNI 11674 standard "Requirements for the determination of the Italian origin of furniture" which defines that both process specifications (the significant phases for manufacturing the semi-finished and finished products must be carried out in Italy) and product requirements (the finished products must guarantee safety, resistance and durability requirements) are met at the same time. It is possible to certify a product, uniquely identified through a code/trade name or a family of products, which is a set of products with similar characteristics, such as materials, geometric shape, construction details, hardware, frames, etc.
How it works. CATAS inspectors carry out annual inspections at the company’s plant in order to sample products specified by the company in the application. Laboratory tests are then carried out in accordance with the relevant technical standards.
